Job Description: The engineer will contribute to the design projects related to diverse electronic systems, printed circuit boards, and peripheral devices. The engineer will work with cross-functional team members from System Engineering, System Integration, Manufacturing, Field Service, Design Quality, and Supply Chain to support the in-vitro diagnostic product lines. Job Responsibilities: Evaluates supplier capabilities. Contributes to designs of innovative solutions addressing obsolescence, reliability, manufacturing, and cost reductions for electronic systems. Completes design projects while meeting schedule, cost, and quality requirements. Works with suppliers during development to ensure product manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT). Troubleshoots and performs root-cause analyses on product failures occurring in design verification, manufacturing, and field. Reviews, generates, and approves product drawings, schematics, layouts, and specifications. Occasionally travels to suppliers, customer sites, or manufacturing sites. Qualification & Experience: Familiarity with control and digital communication subsystems 0-2 related work experience Familiarity with PCB assemblies, layouts, fabrications, and PCB manufacturing Familiarity with designing mixed-signal systems Familiarity with programmable logic devices and microprocessors Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Applies engineering technical knowledge for specified engineering discipline. Familiarity with position, proximity, and pressure sensors Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering Familiarity with motor control and temperature control circuits Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and biologics is desired Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or closely related discipline preferred OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience Familiarity with EMI/EMC, ESD, and transient suppression Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment desired Job Details: Company: Abbott Vacancy Type: Full Time Job Location: Ft.
